Who We Are

Virginia Siegel, Folk Arts Coordinator

Background and Interests

M.A., Folk Studies, Western Kentucky University
B.F.A., Historic Preservation, Savannah College of Art and Design

As the Folk Arts Coordinator for Arkansas Folk and Traditional Arts, I research and document the folklife of Arkansas and oversee our mission. Previously, I served as the Folklife Specialist for the Kentucky Folklife Program. At KFP, I was particularly proud of a project centered on the traditional arts and stories of the Bosnian American diaspora in Kentucky.  My additional research interests include historic preservation, architectural history, and vernacular architecture (including traditional cultural properties).  I am also interested in Chinese folklife and language. 我说一点中文,我在学中文。 很高兴认识您!
